After making her second consecutive appearance at the CrossFit Games this year, and finishing with an impressive 8th place overall, Aimee Cringle has firmly established herself as one of the all-time best CrossFit athletes.

Known for her relentless work ethic and consistency at the top level — and with an extremely modest attitude to match — Aimee continues to raise the bar every season.

We caught up for a quick-fire Q&A to reflect on her Games experience, the training that got her there, and what life looks like beyond the competition floor — from mindset and recovery to her dream job if she wasn’t an athlete.

Q: What’s been the biggest change in your training this year compared to last season?

A: Smarter intensity.

Q: If you had to describe a “perfect prep day” in three parts — training, food, and recovery — what would it look like?

A: A morning conditioning piece, then an afternoon of lifting and accessories. Oats for breakfast and plenty of carbs around sessions. A sauna and ice bath in the evening if possible!

Q: What event style at the Games excites you the most — and which one makes you think, “oh no, here we go”?

A: The endurance events get me excited — runs, bikes, lots of ergs, and a fair bit of midline and gymnastics work!

Q: When training gets tough, what’s the one thought or mantra that gets you through?

A: I keep it simple: “One more rep.” Or “It’s not supposed to be easy — otherwise everyone would do it.”

Q: What recovery tool or ritual could you never live without?

A: I love a massage. But if not, good food, sauna, sleep, stretching, and mobility.

Q: Who do you lean on most for support during the intense build-up — and how do they keep you grounded?

A: Fraser, my coach, and Lewis, my boyfriend. Plus, my training environment — they all help me keep it fun.

Q: If you weren’t an athlete, what career or path would you love to pursue?

A: Probably something to do with food, coffee, or cereal. I’d love to have my own brand or shop!

Q: What’s your go-to comfort food after a brutal training week?

A: Definitely cereal 🤣 but I do love pancakes too!

Q: If you could create your own CrossFit Games event, what would it include?

A: A longer workout — something that combines a run or machines, high-skill gymnastics, and a lot of midline work, all under a 20–25 minute time domain.

Q: Outside of fitness, what’s something about you that supporters might be surprised to learn?

A: I’m obsessed with oats and cereal. And… I used to play the violin!

Aimee shows no signs of slowing down. Balancing hard work with joy, and structure with fun, she proves that the best athletes aren’t built solely in the gym — but shaped by the habits and mindset they live by every day.

Whether she’s chasing reps, recovery, or the perfect bowl of cereal, Aimee Cringle stands out as a true ambassador for the sport, the UK, and for Built For Athletes alike.
