Eddie Hall is a beast of a man, having won the World’s Strongest Man competition in 2017 and set a world record after lifting 500kg in 2016.

The 32-year-old from Stoke has now retired from Strongman events and has plans to fight Hafthor Bjornsson - better known as “The Mountain” from Game of Thrones - in a boxing match.

But back in the day, Hall adopted an almost superhuman diet in his pursuit to pack on huge amounts of muscle.

He would eat a monumental 12,000-15,000 calories a day. Here’s how he did it.

3am Protein Shake: Hall would get up in the middle of the night to fuel.

First Breakfast: Four eggs, five to six pieces of bacon, four to five sausages, toast, beans, and tomatoes. Then a litre of cranberry juice.

Second Breakfast: Bowl of porridge oats and four to five pieces of fruit (apples, pears, plums).

Lunch: 340 to 450g of steak, 200 to 300 grams of pasta, 200 grams of veggies. Then half a family-sized cheesecake for dessert.

Pre-Gym Snack: Two tuna sandwiches plus fruit. Then a litre of energy drink on the way to the gym.

Mid-workout: Beef jerky for amino acids and proteins. Post-workout, Hall would drink a litre of protein shake with milk.

Dinner: Spaghetti bolognese - 1/2kg of spag, 1/2kg of meat plus a whole garlic baguette.

Late-night snack: Protein shake or bar before bed
