With sporting bodies at both international and national levels having suspended events for what is often an indefinite period, fans have been left with a huge void.

However, there are alternative ways you can get your sporting fix.

Here, Built for Athletes looks at six of them.

Watch Repeats Of Your Favourite Sporting Events

YouTube is an archive of the biggest sporting events from history just waiting to be explored.

Reliving some iconic action will often give you more of an adrenaline kick than some of the more drab sporting fixtures which play out live.

A personal favourite of mine is Anthony Joshua’s fight with Wladimir Klitschko, which always serves up some inspiration.

Play Sports Video Games

Striking up an addiction to a video game that simulates your favourite sport could give you hours of entertainment.

Instead of watching from the sidelines, you’ll be in the middle of the action.

Find A New Sports Podcast

There seems to have been a surge in audio content since the outbreak so this is a great time to find a new podcast you love.

With so much variety out there, everybody can find something that suits their taste.

Read An Autobiography

A great way to get some of the behind-the-scenes stories from your favourite sports stars is to buy their books.

Autobiographies usually give insight into dressing rooms that can’t be found elsewhere and you can learn a lot about some of the iconic teams and athletes of the past.

Watch A Sports Film

Whether it’s documentary or fictional, there are plenty of films available which will give you the same buzz as watching live action.

Watch Esports

Although Esports has suffered like every sport during the pandemic, some competitions are going ahead online.

The ESL One Los Angeles, for example, started on March 28 and will run until April 19, and can be watched via a stream.

So if you’ve ever been tempted to give Esports a try, this could be the perfect time.
