The media coverage available to give CrossFit junkies their fix has grown and grown in recent years but one avenue that’s been relatively strong for some time is podcasts.
Whether you’re the owner of a CrossFit affiliate looking for marketing advice or just an amateur looking for WOD advice, there’s something out there for you.
So to break down the options a little, Built for Athletes has selected four of the top CrossFit podcasts out there.
Froning and Friends
Led by legendary CrossFit athlete Rich Froning, this pod features honest and open discussion by a regular panel. It has the key ingredient that makes so many of the great podcasts successful - a simple, conversational approach. Froning and his friends talk about the latest topics in the world of CrossFit, issues from the wider
world and their own personal lives.
Pursuing Health With Julie Foucher
The 2012 CrossFit Games runner-up Julie Foucher speaks to a different guest each episode, delving into the challenges faced by athletes of all abilities. She speaks to experts and experienced athletes about subjects like nutrition, mental health and
competition. The podcast offers in-depth insight into the lives and inner-thinkings of the characters on it.
The Wodcast Podcast
American stand-up comedian Eddie Ifft hosts a podcast to give expert insight into training in a funny and light-hearted way. With a new episode every week, there’s regular content to get stuck into and recurring segments. They aim to help you learn something about fitness while also making you laugh.
Barbell Shrugged
Perhaps the best known CrossFit podcast out there, this stalwart of the industry gives advice and help on key topics relatable to almost everyone involved in CrossFit. The pod is also filmed and published to their YouTube channel, which contains a lot of high-quality content on how to take your fitness forward. Sports science and intellectual discussion goes into each episode but there’s enough humour to make it an offering consumable by anyone.
